Aadi Amaavasai
In astrology, this is a major celebration when the Sun and Moon are present in same sign-the moon symbolizes motherhood and spirit whereas sun stands for fatherhood and soul. The belief goes that night time of Devas or Dakshinayana Punyakalam starts from this very moment as Sun moves towards South direction.
